Sincerely is the most commonly used term-especially for business letters. Others used ・Take care--informal, warm, and polite-between friends and family ・Love--used by family members (spouses, parents/children, brothers/sisters, etc) and boyfriend/girlfriend ・Regards--used in business ・Best regards -- business and friends-more polite / warmer than Sincerely ・With warmest regards--even more polite than Sincerely. But should not be used for business unless the people know each other well ・Thank you (or Thanks) -- informal and used when requesting the receivor of the letter to do something or thanking him/her for something. ・Also, along the same lines, people will close a letter with "Keep up the good work" or something like this instead of a formal salutation. I am sure that there are others, but I can not think of any right now. Best regards, Bruce
