road, way, street, path と pass            

road は車がとおる道路､
 
way は方向、道筋などの意味での道、

street は沿道の建物などを含めた街路、

path は人の踏んで出来た自然の道または庭園・山林の中の道をいう。天体の軌道にも使う。

pass path と発音が違うがやはり道の意味もある。通路、狭い道、横道、山道、峠(mountain pass)。

please tell me the way to the station. (駅へ行く道を教えて下さい)
Don't stand in the way.                (進路をふさぐな)

walk along a street                    (通りを歩く)
