★ ２００１年問題？？
"２００１年は英語でどのように読むのでしょう？" と質問を頂きました。
１９９９年は Year "nineteen ninty nine" と 二桁づつ区切って読みました。
２０００年は Year "two thousand" でした。
では、２００１年は？
１９９９年までのように 二桁づつ区切って "twenty ou one" ？
（ 0 (zero) は アルファベットの O (ou) と読む習慣がありますよね）
それとも "two thousand one" ?
コンピューターソフトの２０００年問題ではないですが私にとっては
２００１年問題に出くわした感じでした。
答は "two thousand one" ２００９年までこれで解決ですね。
★ ２００１年1月8日 は どう読みますか？
・読み方
アメリカでは January eighth two thousand one.
イギリスでは the eighth of January two thousand and one.
・メールなどで略して書くときも
アメリカでは 1/8/01 とか Jan. 8. 2001
イギリスでは 8/1/01 とか 8. Jan. 2001
上の（・読み方）を見て この略した書き順を見ると 何と！一致していますね。
★ 数字の読み方
356 は ？
アメリカでは three handred fifty six
イギリスでは three hundred and fifty six
1002 だと
アメリカでは one thousand two
イギリスでは one thousand and two.
イギリスでは hundred や thousand のような単位を表す語の後に
and が入ります。

年賀状が１２月の早い時期に投函しても１月１日に配達されますが
クリスマス・カードは１２月２５日に届くように配達されることはありません。
クリスマスカードは１１月の第４木曜日の感謝祭頃からクリスマスの直前まで
に送られランダムに配達されます。

正月ずっとエアコンをつけていたら 暑くなりすぎたようで
いきなり たびにゃんが “どさっ”と椅子から降りてきたと思ったら
肩でぜいぜいと息をしながら 台所のタイルの上で横たわっていました
体温が上がりすぎたようです
「だったら 廊下に出れば〜」と言ったら
すごい顔をして睨んでいました
一人ぼっちは嫌みたいです

☆ 正月明けにジムへ行ったら正月に ２Kg ほど体重が増えた という方が
多かったです。 私も・・・。
